Honor A Nurse Campaign

On May 12 each year the world celebrates the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birthday. Nightingale, recognized as the founder of modern nursing, is still revered and widely respected around the world today. To honor her legacy,  the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI); Nightingale Initiative for Global Health (NIGH); and the Florence Nightingale Museum, have launched a sustained public awareness initiative to actively involve the world’s nurses — estimated to be more than 15 million — in a celebration of commitment to promoting health in their communities, locally and worldwide.

The Upsilon Alpha Chapter at Moravian College cordially invites you to Honor a Nurse with a $50 contribution to support the Chapter’s scholarly endeavors at the local level.  The accumulation of these individual gifts will fund small projects, initiatives, and work to advance the scholarship of nurses and nursing in your community.

Contributions may be received at any time during the year; however, your gift would be appreciated by May 1, so that it may be listed with others on Florence Nightingale’s birthday (May 12) anniversary.  Contributions received by the deadline will be included in a publication listing the names of nurses who are being honored.

Through this annual celebration, the nursing profession demonstrates the impact nurses have on health care worldwide.  To learn more about Sigma Theta Tau and the Upsilon Alpha Chapter go to www.nursingsociety.org and upsilonalpha.nursingsociety.org.  Thank you for your gift.
